We have a quest to educate, inspire and create opportunities around printed intelligence. PrintoCent Community hosts already the 6th PrintoCent InnoFest in June 6-7 at the Nallikari restaurant in Oulu, Finland.

We welcome: Developers, designers, multidisciplinary innovators, startups, industry partners, brands, students, investors and media to learn more about printed intelligence and activities around PrintoCent.
To participate in the competition, you need to bring a novel idea and have a skilled team. To support the competitors, we’ll provide world class technical experts from VTT, Oulu based universities, other research institutions and companies to guide you and to embrace the most potential aspects of your ideation. Moreover, if your team needs any fresh ideators, we’ll be happy to assign some student powers from the University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences to strengthen your team composition.
The key is to have an open mind with a desire to come up with the most extraordinary ideas and solutions. The event registration can be done via this link. From all the applications, the 25 teams will be selected on the basis of their idea: originality, feasibility & business potential.
Following the result proven InnoFest traditions, also this year’s event gives an opportunity for 25 teams to compete for the 1st prize (1111 euros, technical support, business development and marketing support) and it offers a setting for selected companies to showcase their solutions.
The honorable jury has 4 members this year: Bengt Christensson from Sprit Ventures, Markku Känsäkoski from Ginolis, Pekka Lamminpää from Sanmina and Edward Schneider from Spirit Ventures. (More details below)

Mr Bengt Christensson has more than 20 years of broad high-tech experience with a focus on semiconductors, embedded IoT and computer vision/AI industries. Bengt was an early team member of Swedish startup Axis Communications and during its formative years held positions such as VP Business Development and Chief Technology Officer. He was further engaged as an executive in Silicon Valley for 15 years, including with semiconductor startups Stream Processors Inc. and Ambarella. Bengt has also served as a Board Member in high-tech companies and standardization consortia in USA, Japan and Europe, and is currently a Director with robotics startup Cognibotics and assist investment companies as Advisor. Bengt holds a M.S. in Electronics Engineering (MScEE) from Lund University with continued studies in business administration and early stage investing at Ahrens Rapid Growth and Connect.
Mr Markku Känsäkoski, MSc (electronics), CTO, over 25 years R&D experience in optical detection, printed electronics, microfluidics, and automation from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, MK Fluidics Oy and Ginolis Oy. He graduated from The University of Oulu in 1991 as Electrical engineer (diploma) majors in electronics and telecommunication. Since 2011 he has been co-founder of Ginolis and CTO. Currently, he is responsible for the R&D in the whole Ginolis group and member of the management team. His best abilities are the capability to transfer application requirements to technical specifications, analyse problems and ability to find innovative solutions for demanding multidisciplinary problems and apply latest technologies to develop new solutions for novel commercial applications, and to sell the solution to customer. He has long experience of running large international projects (industrial, FP6, FP7 and Horizon2020) and he has very large network both in academia and in industry.
Mr Pekka Lamminpää has worked in the high tech industry since 1995 when he started at Ensto Audel Oy, which is the forerunner on Printed Electronics. Prior to joining Sanmina he also worked at Nokia Networks and Medivida Oy. Currently, he’s in charge of Sales at the Sanmina Haukipudas site and has also held several positions in the product and group management.
Mr Edward Schneider has been managing technology funds for more than 25 years. He is a serial entrepreneur, founding Quan Ventures, as well as a bio-tech startup. Ed was an active investor in Scandinavia since the 1990’s, working on portfolio companies such as Innolite (an Extreme Ultraviolet light source provider for semiconductor lithography), and Mycronic (originally a mask writing systems provider for large display manufacturers), among others. Prior to founding Quan in 2000, Ed was a Geneva-based fund manager for Lloyds TSB Bank, where he managed equity mutual funds as well as an external venture capital portfolio. Ed holds a CFA designation, IEEE membership, MBA from Thunderbird and BA from Emory University.
