I have worked in the field from micro-optics to nanophotonics, and design to fabrication through to integration in mass-manufactured optical components for mass-market products starting 2000. I am a developer, researcher, specialist, and manager. I have strong hands-on experience in clean room processing by lithography and micro and nanostructure replication methods and several years of experience in managing R&D teams.

Jesper is a Principal Sensor System Engineer in the Embedded Systems team at Coloplast Denmark A/S. Jesper obtained his PhD from the Technical University of Denmark in 2011 where he developed micro calorimetric sensors for trace explosive detection. Since then, Jesper has worked for more than 15 years with development of sensors for medical devices. This spans from electrochemical sensors for blood analysis at Radiometer Medical, to wearable sensors for different purposes at Coloplast. Jespers key interest lies within the complete value chain of the measurement system. This includes ensuring that sensors are designed to pick up the needed signal with the right resolution, all the way to how data in the cloud can be utilized to generate new insights. He is passionate about combining engineering excellence with patient-centered design, Jesper brings deep expertise in sensor design, data analytics, system architecture, and regulated product development to create impactful healthcare solutions.

I have more than 10 years of experience investing in breakthrough technologies that are fundamental to Defence and National Security, and several of my investments have gone on to be unicorns. As an engineer, I love to work with technically-minded teams that have discovered something new. I help to translate that into a product and compelling vision of the future, and help navigate the path to building large dual-use companies that are critical to the future of our society.

My mission is to help companies to develop new business opportunities based on printed electronics, optics and other functionalities, new thin/flexible/large-area/conformal product concepts, as well as roll-to-roll manufacturing, including printing, assembly, lamination and plastic in-mould integration processes.
